I went out with a customer yesterday, looking for affordable one bedrooms in the East Village. We saw some really great stuff! I showed her units between $2000 and $2400.
This one bedroom on Second Ave has an unusually large living room, the bedroom fits a queen and has a big closet. Although the kitchen is not brand new it is clean, well laid-out and definitely usable. Seems like a good deal at $2100 (may be slightly negotiable)
Our next apartment is also $2100, but has a totally different vibe with exposed brick, very high ceilings and a larger bedroom. The kitchen is open to the living room and there is a cool decorative brick fireplace. This apartment would be perfect for someone who loves entertaining and is located just a few short blocks from the F train at Second Ave. Also, it’s NO FEE.
This last apartment is a really unique space–a sprawling 4 room pre-war space that hasn’t been updated since 1910 (seriously). If you’re handy and don’t mind an unrenovated kitchen, you’ll get a ton of space here. Gorgeous wood floors, extra-large windows in every room, a clawfoot tub and transom windows over the doorframes. Currently listed for $2400 but a solid applicant could probably score this one for closer to $2200.
